Debra Ann Russell

Debra (Debbie) Ann Russell, beloved mother and wife, passed away on June 13, 2023 at the age of 68. Her passing was sudden and unexpected, but her spirit will be remembered in all the memories she leaves behind.

Debbie was born December 22, 1954 in Washington DC to Robert L. and Rita L. Gooslin. Once the family settled in Clinton, she met the love of her life, Clifford P. Russell, in her high school years. They were married on August 5, 1985 for 14 years until his passing. Together they had three children: Alisa, Amanda and Annie. The family lived in Charlotte Hall and built a life filled with love for one another.

Notably she worked in the department store Montgomery Ward and a greenhouse before she found a job she came to love at the PG County library system. After many happy years at the library she became a full time housewife and stay at home mom, her favorite and most cherished job of all.

Debbie was a collector of almost all things, including but not limited to: tins, stamps, coins, Avon bottles and Beanie Babies. She loved going to yard sales and thrift stores to find antiques and new additions to her collections.

In her later years she especially loved to travel with and visit all her relatives in Texas, including her cousins, Cynthia Lara and Loretta Johnson. She also had a love for bingo, trying her luck at the slots and the dice game of LCR.

She will be remembered for her humor, distinctive laugh and wild stories. You could always pick her out of a crowd by her height and her shining silver hair. She leaves behind a legacy of love and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Debbie is survived by her daughters: Alisa Russell, Amanda Williams and husband Tony, and Annie Russell. Siblings: Nanette Kaminski, Robert (Bob) and Brenda Gooslin and Rebecca (Becky) and Joseph (Jody) Pennington. Nephews: Gene Gooslin, Robert and Christopher Pennington, and Craig Harbaugh. In-laws: Cathy and Steve Clark and Dennis Russell. Nieces and nephews: Candice and Brandon Levin, Steven Clark, Alison and Andrew Boonchaisri, James (Jimmy) Russell and April Russell. She will also be remembered by life long friends Mary Trollinger and Kay Collins.

Debbie was preceeded in death by her husband: Clifford Russell, parents: Robert and Rita Gooslin, in-laws: Matthew, Dorothy and John Russell, nieces and nephews: Jeana Diehl, Rita (Bitsy) Harbaugh, Dennis Jr., Katherine (Katie), and Joseph (Joey) Russell.

Final arrangements are to be held at Lee's Funeral Home in Clinton, MD on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. A memorial ceremony will be from 10am-12pm followed by her service from 12-1pm. She will then be laid to rest with her husband at Resurrection Cemetery, also in Clinton, MD.
