In memory of Delbert Harold Ennis, born 01/07/1932, called to be with the Lord 12/06/2020. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Antonia and daughter Maria Dolores; his parents Edgar Logan Ennis and Roxanna Wood Ennis and 13 siblings. Delbert left school after the 8th grade and was put to work to help support the family. He held various jobs until he enlisted in the Navy at age 17. He was a submariner for 20 years with a total of 22 years in the Navy. He achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer, which was the highest enlisted rank at that time. After the Navy he worked for the National Park Service for 20 years. He married his first wife whom he met when stationed in Guantanamo, Cuba. They had a long marriage of 58 years. Together they had three children. He is survived by Anthony Delbert and Frances Aldina. He has 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. He remarried in 2016 and is survived by his wife Linda Ennis. Delbert was a steadfast member of the Catholic Church attending services remotely and saying his daily rosary. He enjoyed listening to Country music and watching his news channel. He had a great sense of humor and often shared his jokes. He had a lifetime love of animals owning many cats and dogs through the years. He was a 50 year member of the Holland Club. Visitation will be held at Lee Funeral Home in Clinton, Maryland.
