Dennis R. Smith1941 - 2013Dennis R. Smith, 71, of Clinton, MD on Friday August 23, 2013 at Med Star Southern Maryland Hospital Center, Clinton, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD he was a son of the late Lester and Bessie (Satchfield) Smith. He celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary with his wife Peggy (Newcomer) Smith on June 22, 2013. He worked as a computer programer/analyst for GEICO Insurance Company for thirty five years retiring on December 28, 2007. He enjoyed playing guitar and was a member of the band Memories for over twenty years. He also enjoyed sailing, cheering for the Redskins, and spending time with his family. Surviving along with his wife Peggy is their daughter Terry Downs (Kenneth), five grandchildren, Amanda, Kelly, William, Stephen, and Kaitlynn, two great-grandchildren, Ayden and Robert, and several nieces and nephews.
