Diane Lynn Mercado

Diane Lynn Mercado, 65, of Clinton, MD passed away peacefully on October 8, 2016 with her family by her side. Diane was born in Manchester, New Hampshire on October 17, 1950 to the late Milton F. Rogers and Faye N. Russell. She grew up in Manchester and graduated from Manchester West High School before enlisting in the United States Navy as a dispersing clerk. While serving in the Navy, she met her husband, Arturo Cortez Mercado, who predeceased her on May 17, 2008. After honorably discharging from the Navy, Diane focused on raising her three children and supporting her family through administrative work until her retirement in 2013. In her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, traveling to New England, shopping, and home decorating. Diane is predeceased by her parents, husband, sister Gail Strickland of Bristol, TN, and brother Dana Russell of Manchester, NH. She is survived by her children, daughter Lisa Perez of Spring Lake, NC, and sons Nathan Mercado of Oahu, HI, and Matthew Mercado and wife Angela of Pasadena, MD. She is also survived by brother Steve Rogers, half-brother Gary Russell, and sister Donna Duval and husband Jim, all of Manchester, NH. Additionally, she is survived by 7 grandchildren, and 1 on the way: Baillie Perez, Sydney Perez, Paige Perez, Fallon Perez, Cameron Mercado, Liam Contreras, Addison Mercado, and Bodhi Mercado (on the way). She is also survived by her very special friends, Blanca Plaza and the ChaChas, as well as a large extended family of in-laws, nieces, and nephews. A viewing will be on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 2 pm until time of Funeral Service at 4 pm at the Lee Funeral Home, 663 Old Alexandria Ferry Road, Clinton, MD 20735.
