Diane Aleta White was a proud and charismatic grandmother, mother, sister, and friend. Diane left this world overnight in the comfort of her bed. She was discovered by her children promptly on August 14, 2022. She was 69 years old.
She was the second child born to Edward & Leda Yates, in Buffalo New York on June 2nd, 1953. She was born just minutes before her identical twin sister unexpectedly arrived. She grew up in Upstate NY with her sisters, Debra & Denise, until eventually all three siblings came to reside in Maryland. Diane worked before, and after, her childbearing years as a paralegal within the Office of FOIA Services at the US Security & Exchange Commission.
Diane was blessed to bear her first born son, Adam, on May 1st, 1982, followed by her daughter Vanessa on December 6th, 1985. She stayed at home to raise her children for over a decade before returning to the SEC protecting citizens through her dedication to The Freedom of Information Act until retirement. She was thrilled to be a loving grandmother to Adam & Concetta’s children; Harrison, Ava, Nathan & Natalie. And she was pleased when Vanessa added a new generation of identical twins, Mitchell & Lexington.
A Celebration of Life is being held at Rips Country Inn on August 25th, from 5p to 8:30pm, with light refreshments. Those who may wish to share memories of her and celebrate her life are welcome to stop by. In lieu of flowers, please donate to one of her favorite charitable organizations, Second Chance Wildlife Center based out of Gaithersburg MD. To donate, visit their website at SCWC.ORG. Diane rescued many animals throughout her lifetime, often despite risk and inconvenience in doing so. Wildlife specifically brought her joy, especially in her retirement years.
