Dolores, a lifelong and devout Catholic showered her family, friends and associates with love, support, generosity and empathy. In 1988, she retired from her decades long patriotic and faithful federal civil service on behalf of U.S. national security. In spite of the demands of her professional work, Dolores prioritized sharing the fruits of her cooking skills, handed down from her mother, to feed wonderfully flavored Italian and American cuisine to her family and many friends. Dolores enjoyed shopping at the many local malls and department stores with her young children and ensured that every Christmas celebration included a veritable avalanche of gifts and a beautifully decorated tree, all materializing over Christmas eve night while her young children eagerly slept. Upon retiring, Dolores went on to assist family members in their business pursuits and also to repay a debt of gratitude to military veterans as an employee of the Catholic War Veterans. At home, she pursued various creative outlets in sewing, ceramics and gardening. Dolores exhibited her charm and grace at many family events, thoroughly enjoying any opportunity to dance. As the eldest in her family, Dolores loved to explore and then recount for her siblings and her children adventurous tales of bicycling and roller skating around her neighborhood and the nearby Rock Creek park.
