Dolores W. ScottDolores W. Scott, 74, died on July 14, 2013 at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital. She was born to Louis Woodall and Sadie Hall of Georgia on July 27, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois.Dolores retired as a caseworker from the State of Illinois’ welfare division after working there for 37 years. She came out of retirement to fulfill her dream of becoming a nurse. She went back to school to study nursing while living in Massachusetts. Dolores received her license in practical nursing in May 1997.Dolores moved to Southern Maryland in 1999. She served as an LPN for 16 years until she retired from Charles County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, La Plata, MD, in February 2013. She loved her nursing career with a passion. In 2012, she received the "Inspiring Caregiver Award" from the Alzheimer's Association. Her interests included reading, Internet surfing, Facebook, playing games on her iPAD, watching movies, music, traveling, visiting various casinos, and spending quality time with her family.She was preceded in death by her sister, Elaine Frazier and her brother-in-law, Arthur Frazier.Dolores is survived by her two children: LeRoy Woodall and Christina Vann; daughter in-law: Clara Woodall; seven grandchildren: Christopher Vann, Brennan Woodall, Crystal White, Ashley Woodall, Steven Wade, Chauntina Wade, and RaShaun Wade; and a great-grandchild: Joshua.She is also survived by her stepsister: Gladys O'Bryan; her nieces: Carla Boston and Teena Wilson (and her spouse Rick); two great-nieces, one great-nephew, one loving poodle, and many more extended family and friends.A memorial service will be held on July 24, 2013 at Lee Funeral Home in Clinton, MD.
