Donald James Miller Sr

Donald James Miller, Sr. passed peacefully at Sagepoint Senior Living Services, La Plata, Maryland, on Wednesday, January 5th, at age 81. On October 21, 1967 he married Diane Marie Thomas with whom he recently celebrated 53 years of marriage. In 1991, after 33 years with the U.S. Postal Service, Don retired to life on the family farm. He was well known for his love of flowers and introduced the area to the concept of purchasing field-grown plants. He was a life-time member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Clinton, Maryland and a founding member of the Knights of Columbus Council #11171. His parish activities included the Holy Name Society, St. John's Choir, the Cursillo Movement, Eucharistic Ministry, and many more parish organizations and services. He was preceded in death by his siblings Frances Lee, Ella Olivia Johnston, Rose Mary Greenwell, Henry P. Miller, Charles P. Miller, and Dorothy Miller. He is survived by his wife Diane, their children: Donald J. Miller (Paige), Dennis M. Miller (Jodi), Daniel T. Miller (Lisa), Donna Marie Miller, his three grandchildren: John, Jacob, and Anna as well as his sister Madeline Ann Mudd.
