Donald Snider

Donald Snider, a cherished husband to the late Elizabeth Snider , father, and grandfather, passed away on February 13, 2025 at his home in  Advance, North Carolina.  Donald's life of 84 years was marked by resilience and dedication.

He devoted 17 years of his life working as a cable splicer for the telephone company, where he cultivated a strong work ethic and skills that would serve him well in his entrepreneurial pursuits. For over 30 years, he proudly owned Cedar Fences, Inc. in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, contributing to his community and leaving a lasting legacy in the fencing business.

Donald was educated through high school and built a life characterized by love and perseverance. He faced significant challenges after sustaining a spinal cord injury at the age of 53. Despite this adversity, he exhibited remarkable strength, persevering for 31 years and inspiring those around him with his unwavering spirit.

  He leaves behind his 4 children, Vickie ( Late James) McIntyre and Valerie (David) Snider, Shellie (Dave) Talbott, Thomas (Leah) Snider, along with his  8  loving grandchildren, Connie, Sarah, Melissa, Donald, Olivia, Nancy, Michael, and Adam. Donald had 4  sisters,  Joyce. Joan, June, and Janice.

Donald was predeceased by his parents, Floyd Milton Snider and Grace Marie Snider whose memories live on through their son’s  love, kindness, generosity and perseverance .

A visitation will be held in his honor on February 21, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lee Funeral Home Inc, located at 6633 Old Alexandria Ferry Road, Clinton, MD. A private graveside burial for immediate family will follow. 

As friends and family gather to remember Donald, they will celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, fortitude, and cherished memories. Throughout his life, Donald touched many hearts and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
