Donna Louise Simms

Donna Louise Simms of Prince Frederick, MD, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2020, at the age of 61. She was born on January 11, 1959, in Cheverly, MD to Naomi L. [Griffith] and the late William E. Burton. Donna was a school bus driver with Prince Georges’ County Schools for many years. Spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, was the greatest joy. When the family got together for Christmas, she was just as excited as the children. Donna also enjoyed traveling to Virginia to vacation on weekends off the Great Wycomico River. For over 15 years, Donna was the beloved wife of James E. Simms, Jr. and the loving mother of Tim Higgins (Erica), Jimmy Simms (Lauren), Shawn Higgins (Patti) and Chris Simms (Amanda). She was the devoted grandmother of Gianna, Averie, Amelia, Brantley, Owen and Tanner. She is also survived by her mother Naomi, brothers Billy, Lee, Russell and Robbie, and her faithful companion “Charlie”. She is preceded in death by her father William and sister Linda.
