Doris Miriam Hobson

February 4, 1943 – November 2, 2024

On the afternoon of November 2, 2024, Doris Miriam Hobson passed away at Georgetown
University Hospital. She was 81 years old. Doris was born in Brooklyn, New York to the late
Abraham and Rose Levine. After attending the Brooklyn school system, Doris went to work
for the federal government. She worked for the Air Force Commissary system for over 30
years and retired from federal service in 2005. Doris was a strong no-nonsense woman who
was incredibly determined with a huge heart. She was thoughtful, genuine, sincere, and
very generous and gave to many charities. She loved playing cards with her family and
enjoyed playing Pinochle with friends at Harmony Hall. She was a devoted wife, mother,
grandmother, and great grandmother, and she did whatever it took to help her family. Doris
is survived by her husband Hughes, daughters Donna, Diana, Debra and Denise, her sister
Leah, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and her schnauzer Pepper. She was
preceded in death by stepson Michael, stepson Derrick, step granddaughter Kendra, and
schnauzer Whiskers.

The funeral service for Doris Miriam Hobson will be held at 3:00pm on November 18th with
viewing from 1:00-3:00pm at Lee Funeral Home 6633 Old Alexandra Ferry Road, Clinton,
MD 20735. In lieu of flowers, Doris would prefer donations to be made to the American
Cancer Society at https://donate.cancer.org.
