Dorothy Bush of Camp Springs, MD died on Monday February 3, 2025.
Dorothy grew up in Camp Springs, the daughter of a hardworking farmer. She met the love of her life, Darrell, when they were kids, and their deep bond led to marriage in 1943, just before he left for basic training. During World War II, Dorothy contributed to the war effort by working at Andrews Air Force Base.
A woman of unwavering faith and kindness, Dorothy dedicated her life to serving God and her community. She was an active volunteer at her church, giving her time to youth groups, hospitals, and charitable causes. Her influence reached far and wide, and many of the young people she mentored in those church youth groups remain her dear friends even 70 years later.
Dorothy’s legacy of love, service, and friendship will be cherished by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her husband of 81 years, Darrell; their only daughter Linda passed away in 1988. Dorothy is survived by her grandson Ben Ryerson and Ben's wife Blythe Ryerson; her great-grandchildren Elena Ryerson (19) and Colin Ryerson (16).
