Dorothy Owens Hawkins

Dorothy Owens HawkinsBeloved wife of the late Clayton R. Hawkins, DC Fire Dept. Retired and devoted mother of the late Raymond L. Hawkins, U.S. Park Police. Dorothy was born on Capitol Hill and graduated from Eastern High School in 1933. She first worked for Aetna Life Insurance Company but later worked 24 years as a secretary for the National Association of Letter Carriers. For many years the Hawkins spent their leisure at their summer home at West River, Md. They were also interested in the Decorative Arts and collected and exhibited Victorian cheese dishes. Since retirement, Mrs. Hawkins has been a volunteer docent at the Lee-Fendall House in Alexandria, VA. She has been a member of the Lutheran Church of the Reformation, Washington DC for 50 years.
