Dorothy Ann Johnson

Dorothy Ann Johnson livingly known as “Ann” peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on August 8, 2016. She was born on April 16, 1952 to Addie Beal Hairston and James Russell Hairston in Martinsville, VA whom both preceded her to heaven along with two siblings Louvenia Brown and Willie Eugene Hairston. Ann graduated from George Washington Carver High School in Fieldale, VA and later received an Associate degree from Southwestern University. She was employed with the Department of Agriculture, Clinton Nursing and Rehabilitation and also Swan Road Early Learning Center. Ann’s life passion was taking care of her family. She dedicated her time, love, and wisdom to her children and grandchildren. She opened her home, heart, and kitchen to numerous others as if they were her own. Her spare time was spent taking care of her plants, playing solitaire and watching her favorite game shows. She was an avid San Diego Chargers fan. She leaves to cherish heartfelt memories her partner of 16 years Walter Berry; daughter Carmen Hairston , son James Mitchel Omar Johnson , five grandchildren, Ikia, William, Donte, Aunye and Jakiya, one great-grandchild Kelsi; two sisters Rita Williams and Addie Wimbush; two brothers Jake Hairston (Paulette) and James Hairston (Nilaya); also a host of nieces and nephews.
