Dorothy E. Norell, of District Heights, MD died on December 14, 2016 at the age of 93. Born in North Dakota, December 29, 1922 to Nels and Helga Mahlum. Dorothy was raised in Fingal North Dakota where she attended school and met her loving husband Kenneth. They later moved to Seattle WA during WWII where she worked for Boeing Aircraft as a “Rosie the Riveter”. They ultimately settled in District Heights, MD, where they raised their 6 children. She was an active member of District Heights Presbyterian Church (now Unity Presbyterian Church) and a member of a prayer group for many years. Dorothy also enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, gardening, cooking, reading and spending time with her family. In her later years, she faithfully got spiritual nourishment watching “The Hour of Power.” Beloved wife of the late Kenneth R. Norell; Devoted mother of Terry Norell of Upper Marlboro, MD, Nancy Crowell and her husband Drex Crowell of Edgewater, MD, Janet Rihl of Coconut Creek, FL, Dean Norell of Huntington, MD, Randy Norell of Upper Marlboro, MD and Patti Hickman and her husband Terry Mouzon of Upper Marlboro, MD; Dear sister of Dale Mahlum of Federal Way, WA and Donna Gulland and her husband Chuck Gulland of Roseville, CA; Loving grandmother of Christy Daubar and her husband David, Dawn Murphy and her husband Colin, Adam Crowell and his wife Emily, Michael Norell, Gabrielle Norell, Natalie Norell, Katrina Hickman, Tara Hickman and Kevin Hickman; Great-grandmother of Melina Daubar, Miranda Daubar, Malia Carey and Daniela Diaz. She was loved and will be dearly missed but is now pain free and now in the presence of our dear Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
