Douglas passed away suddenly on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28th while at his residence in Holly Springs, North Carolina. Doug was born on June 2, 1960, and lived all of his early years in Camp Springs, MD. As a youngster he loved to bowl and won "high average" awards. He attended Crossland High School and graduated in 1978 and played tennis on the tennis team. He went on to the University of Maryland and earned a degree in Business in 1982, and then returned to school for additional computer training. Doug's first job was at Giant Food headquarters in Landover Md. where he worked for 22 years. During this time he moved to Bowie, MD where he resided for 36 years and met his wife Ashley. Their daughter, Amber (8), and son Danny (6), were born here. While residing in Bowie he accepted a position with the IRS and had been with them 18 years planning to retire in June. The family moved to Holly Springs, North Carolina 3 years ago and are currently in the process of moving to Angier, North Carolina. Doug was a loving and caring husband, father, and brother. He leaves his wife Ashley and two children Amber and Daniel, and one brother Michael. Friends are invited to gather at Lee Funeral Home, 6633 Old Alexander Ferry Road. Clinton, MD. from 2-4pm on Sunday, Dec. 15th, and for services on Monday, Dec. 16th, 10a-12p at St. Johns the Evangelist Church, 8908 Old Branch Ave, Clinton, MD. Internment immediately following at Resurrection Cemetery, 8000 Woodyard Rd, Clinton, MD. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
