Douglas “Rusty” Wayne Callahan, 52, a resident of Upper Marlboro, Maryland for over 45 years died May 15, 2010 as the result of an auto accident.\n \n \n \nDouglas was born in May, 1957 to the late James and Geraldine Callahan. He was the stepson of Romaine Callahan.\n \n \n \nFor 30 years, Douglas was the beloved husband of Rhonda Thorne Callahan. Together they raised two daughters, Jessica Callahan and Jennifer Callahan.\n \n \n \nAs one of five children, Douglas is survived by three brothers, Ricky Callahan, Gregory Callahan and Scott Callahan and one sister, Kim Davis.\n \n \n \nDouglas was the owner of Crossroads Welding of Upper Marlboro and a member of the National Street Rod Association. He enjoyed showing Street Rods, visiting their property in West Virginia and going “R-Ving”. \n \n \n \nThe family will receive friends at LEE FUNERAL HOME, CALVERT, P.A., 8125 Southern Maryland Blvd., Owings, MD 20736 (Rt. 4 and Fowler Rd.) on Friday, July 9, 2010 from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon, at which time a service of Christian Burial will be held with Rev. Ken McDonald officiating. Interment will take place at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD following the service.
