Earl Roscoe JohnsonEarl was born on February 27, 1924 in Pennsylvania. After moving to Maryland, he met and married his wife of 51 years, the late Mary L. Cleaveland Johnson in May 1950. Earl passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2008. He is survived by his three children; Earl F. Johnson, Gale Bowling and Thomas Johnson. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren; Byron Bowling, Jeffrey Johnson, Derrick Bowling, Jodi Johnson, Danielle Bowling, Tammy Johnson and Scott Johnson. Also leaving behind three great-grandsons; Koen Bowling, Jackson Bowling and Kaiden Bowling. Earl worked for Peter Kewitt and Sons as a Master Mechanic for a bizzilion years. After which, he retired to his farm in Accokeek, MD where he enjoyed farming, countless cookouts with his family and the special fishing trips with his grandsons. During his retirement, he worked one day a week at the Operating Engineers School in Accokeek until 2006. (Pop) or (Pappy) as he was lovingly called by his children and grandchildren, was known to have a wonderful sense of humor. He was also well respected as someone who was always there in time of need. Earl is also survived by his brother Jim Johnson.The family kindly request donations to be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
