It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Edgar L. Hearn Jr., affectionately known as Ed, who departed this life on September 15, 2024, in Owings, Maryland, surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 6, 1955, Ed lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to those he cherished.
Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Ann Maus-Hearn, of Catonsville, Maryland, who will carry his love in her heart forever. He was a proud father to his two beautiful children, Kathleen Hearn Mallet and her husband Michael, and Joseph M. Hearn and his wife Amy. The joy of his life also included his three wonderful grandchildren, Joseph Jr., Lily Christine, and Maxen James. Ed's legacy extends to his cherished niece, Katherine A. Lichtenstein and her husband Mark, along with their daughters, Emilee and Anna, and his nephew, Robert J. Knight, and his wife Mindy. He also leaves behind his brother-in-law, Robert Knight, and his beloved dog, Hannah.
Ed approached life with a sense of humor that was infectious, bringing joy to all who knew him. His enduring friendships were a testament to his kind spirit and the laughter he shared with those around him. He was an avid sports fan and dedicated to youth sports in Sykesville, Maryland, where he played an active role in his children's lives.
Professionally, Ed was a successful regional sales manager and owner of EDCo Tool and Ace Hardware, where his hard work and commitment were evident. His generous spirit was highlighted by his contributions to Infinite Legacy, helping others find healing and hope.
A celebration of Ed's life will be held in the near future, bringing together family and close friends to honor his memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the American Heart Association or the Humane Society of the United States.
Ed, you are now at eternal peace, and your memory will remain in our hearts forever. Your love and laughter will be missed more than words can express. Rest in peace, dear husband, father, and friend.
