On January 27, 2024, Eileen Teresa Furnari danced her way into Heaven. She was born in Queens, NY to the late William and Margaret Barnhill. They moved to Philadelphia, PA when she was a teen for a short while. Ultimately, the family moved to the Washington DC area, and she attended McKinley Technology High School. It was at McKinley that she met the young man that would later become her husband, Arthur A. Jacob, Sr. Together they raised their family of five children. In 1965, Arthur suddenly passed away. Eileen made the decision to move her family to the Prince Georges County suburb of Lewisdale. She met a single father by the name of Charles P. Furnari. They quickly fell in love and married on October 6, 1967. Eileen became a bookkeeper and co-owner of Charles’ ornamental iron company. They enjoyed raising their children together and working side by side. In 1998, Arthur “Archie” Jacob, Jr. unexpectedly passed away. That grief was widened when Charles passed away in 2005. Eileen led a wonderful life and was known for many things. She loved dancing to whatever music was being played and often found a partner within arm’s length. She always made her wishes known. She was very specific in what she wanted and didn’t have a problem expressing it. Her zest for life will be carried on for generations to come. Eileen was one of a kind and will be sorely missed. Her legacy is carried on by her children, Denise Jacob Jarboe, Kathleen Jacob Morgan, Michael Jacob, Philip Jacob, and Valerie Furnari Eddy. She was a grandmother of eight and great grandmother of eleven. Her family will be adorning her graveside service with flowers. They ask that anyone wishing to send flowers donate in Eileen's memory to St. Jude Childrens Hospital instead.
