Jean Davis Jean was born in Washington Indiana (Davis County) on September 23rd 1920. She was named Elinor Jean Hull. Jean was the first of five children. She had four brothers. They were John, Wayne, Harry, and Jay. As a child she lived in many different parts of the United States. She told the story of going to more than 14 different schools growing up. At times she lived in Michigan, Boston, Vermont, Maryland, Indiana, and of course Washington DC. She finally finished High School in 1939 graduating from Anacostia High School. Jean went to work for the Phone Company as a switch board operator in the long distance office. She would always talk about how the switch board lit up on December 7th 1941. She married her first Husband in 1944 and on December 15th 1944 Carolyn Jean was born. Three months later her husband who was a fighter pilot was shot down and killed over Belgium. After the war she met Robert (Bossy) Davis and they were married on February 9th 1947. On November 15th 1947 Robert Jr.(Bobby) was born. Jean and her family lived in the Fairfax Village area of Washington until 1959. While living there she started bowling with her local church team. This was her passion that stayed with her well into her later life. In 1959 Jean and her family moved to Morningside, Maryland. She soon realized that she knew lots of her new neighbors from growing up in DC and Indiana. She joined the Ladies Auxiliary to the Morningside Fire Department and of course joined their bowling league. Jean coached girl's softball for many years A few years later she Joined the Sweet Adelines singing group and continued singing with them for many years. Jean and Bossy finished raising their two kids in Morningside. After that, they started spending winters in Florida. In the spring and summer they would spent weekends at Goose Bay with all their friends. In 1994 they moved to Kent Island. In 2002 Bossy passed at the age of 82. A year later, Jean moved to Chesapeake Ranch Club and stayed with Peggy Richardson where she lived for two years and then moved in with her daughter in Clinton. As she was now 88 years old, she was moved into assisted living near her daughter Carolyn. When Carolyn Passed, Bobby and Suz moved her to Church Hill, Maryland. She lived there until she finished her life at the age of 92.
