Elizabeth McFarlane

Elizabeth "Betty" McFarlane left this world January 16, 2022 at the age of 90 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Born in County Cavan, Ireland to Edward and Margaret Donohoe, she left to chase her dreams and came to 'Amerikay' where she met her husband John, and after a whirlwind courtship they wed. Together, they had 5 children: John, Edward, Rose, Elizabeth, and James. "She was always full of fun & mischief" in the words of her niece 'Maggie' Furlong, and her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met. Despite pain and medical issues in recent years, she showed courage in facing life challenges with a smile and stayed strong until the end. She is survived by her sons John and Edward; her daughters Rose and Elizabeth; Elizabeth's husband Bob; her grandson James and his wife Tyler; her sisters Babbie, Kathleen, Sr. Brona, Ellen, and little Monica; and many cherished nieces and nephews around the world. She was preceded in death by John, her husband of 49 years; her son James and most recently her sister Mary and her nephew Jimmy. Elizabeth will be honored in a celebration of life on January 26, 2022 at the Lee Funeral Chapel - Clinton, Maryland. Visitation hours are from 10 am – 12 pm, with a Eulogy mass starting at 12 pm. There will be no reception and no graveside service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice in her name.
