Elizabeth Ann Thorn "Betty Ann" 1928 - 2014 Elizabeth Ann Thorn, 85, of Upper Marlboro, MD on Wednesday June 11, 2014 in Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Spring, MD. Born in Washington, DC she was a daughter of the late Kenneth T. and Elizabeth E. (Smith) Pumphrey. She worked for many years as an executive assistant to the Superintendent of the Prince Georges County Schools retiring in 1990. She enjoyed traveling, her cat Q.T., playing cards, BINGO, Shirley Temple movies, and also was a big Gone With The Wind fan. She is survived by a son Douglas W. Thorn(Cindy L.), a daughter Karen E. Althouse(Timothy W.), two grandchildren Jodi M. and Jake M. Thorn, two great grandchildren Haley and Kaylin. She was preceded in death by a son Edward in 1958.
