Elizabeth Tucker

Elizabeth Tucker, of Upper Marlboro, MD died on April 14, 2016 at the age of 93. Born in Ritchie, Maryland the daughter of the late Ruth Virginia (Cooke) Tippett and the late Owen E. Tippett. Elizabeth attend elementary schools in Ritchie and Mitchellville MD. She worked on the Family Farm and the Forest Hill Motel. She met and married Andrew Tucker on June 10, 1939. Together they raised four children in Upper Marlboro, MD. Her children and family all attended St. Mary’s of the Assumption Catholic church and school in Upper Marlboro, MD. After her children were grown, Elizabeth worked in Kettering Middle School cafeteria before retiring after 26 years of service. Elizabeth loved family and cared for her husband until his death in 2003. She enjoyed canning food, playing Bingo and especially loved flowers and tending to her garden. Beloved wife of the late Andrew Tucker; devoted mother of Mary Ann Ferrell of Greenbelt, MD, Betty Jean Strange of Collins, MO, Joseph Earl Tucker, Sr. and his wife Patricia and the late John Andrew Tucker; loving grandmother of Ginger Lee Higgs, John Andrew Tucker, Jr., Joseph Earl Tucker, Jr., Bridget Ann Stastny and Barry Lee Homberg; also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
