Elizabeth Sanderson Walter

Elizabeth Sanderson Walter (Sandy) died peacefully Friday, December 11, 2020 surrounded by her children at her daughter’s residence. Born July 9, 1928 in Huntsville, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Alice Sanderson. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her beloved husband Melvin E. Walter, Jr.; mother of Stephen Anthony Walter, Gregory Austin Walter, the late David Eugene Walter, Christina Walter Floyd, Philip Damian Walter and Patricia Helen Cullum. She was the proud grandmother of 13 children, great grandmother of 8 and great-great grandmother of 6. She was loved and cherished by everyone she met. A graveside service will be held at Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, Maryland. She will be laid to rest next to Mel, her husband of 66 years on Monday, December 28, 2020 in a private ceremony. We will miss her greatly and our love for her is endless.
