Ellen Virginia Seekford

Ellen Virginia Seekford formally of Colonial Beach, Virginia and also Upper Marlboro, MD passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. Ellen was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Ellen was born on May 20, 1935 to Norval and Ethel Sasscer. Ellen was one out of ten children that was born and raised on a farm in Upper Marlboro, MD. Ellen worked at the court house in Upper Marlboro for many years before moving on to become a store manager for the High’s and 7-11 stores. In her retirement years she dove into becoming a caregiver for the elderly. When Ellen wasn’t working she enjoyed a variety of things including gardening and plants. She also in particular loved birds, her favorite being Cardinals, and thoroughly enjoyed a good yard sale. Ellen loved and attended Trinity Church her whole life. Ellen was most known for her loving personality, especially her love for family. Ellen came from a large family and in return was the matriarch of a large family. Ellen was also known for being a strong woman and raising her daughters and granddaughters to be the same way. Ellen is predeceased by her parents: Norval and Ethel Sasscer and one son, William "Billy" Carroll Seekford (Debbie). She is survived by her three children, Sandra Germain (Joseph), Joyce Reid (Chuck), and John Seekford (September); 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two sisters, Doris and Barbara; one brother, Charles; and many other family members and friends.
