Elsie Elizabeth Horstkamp

Elsie Elizabeth (Paddy) Horstkamp of Huntingtown, MD passed away peacefully on June 11, 2022 at the age of 83.

She was born and raised at the family farm on May 24, 1939 in Huntingtown, MD to the late Albert & Elsie (Norfolk) Paddy.  

As a child she worked in the tobacco fields with her father. She then made her home on the family farm, where she & her husband Tommy raised 2 children.

Elsie was a stay at home mom until her children graduated from high school. She later worked at Bowens Grocery in Huntingtown, and worked with her daughter & son in law at Artisan Printing in Forestville, MD. In her spare time, Elsie loved watching the hummingbirds & deer that would come visit in the yard. She loved looking for sharks teeth with her husband and walking in the woods on their property. She enjoyed spending time in Ocean City, MD and visiting Assateague Island to look for wildlife. She also enjoyed visiting family in Pennsylvania. Elsie was loved by her children & grandchildren. She will be remembered as loving, caring Mother, Grandmother and Friend.

Elsie is survived by son Robert (Karen) Horstkamp of Shady Side, MD, daughter Tammy (Gary) Crescenze of Willards, MD, granddaughter Samantha (Wyatt Bishop) Crescenze of Willards, MD, grandson James Smith of Jacksonville, FL and sister, Cynthia Ward of Huntingtown, MD, and many nieces and nephews.

Elsie is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Thomas E. Horstkamp, grandson Thomas W. Horstkamp, brothers Albert & Maurice Paddy, sister Mary Helen (Paddy) Marshall and parents Albert & Elsie (Norfolk) Paddy.

The family will receive friends at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on Monday, June 20, 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm where a Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Gardens Cemetery 10155 Ward Road, Dunkirk, MD 20736.
