Esther Jean Macon

Esther Jean Macon, born February 14, 1939 in Green Springs, VA, and raised in Washington, DC, transitioned unexpectedly on October 8, 2021, at Cleveland Clinic- Fairview Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Baxter J. Macon, Jr., daughter Carla Macon-Granville (Mark), her parents, her sisters Mildred Dorothy “Dot” Miller and Lillian Ruth Harris, and brothers, Henry “Hank” Harris, and Emmett Harris, Jr. Jean is survived by her nine children; William Powell (Yolanda), Bruce Powell (Linda), Michele Clark (Elwood), Baxter III, Lynn Powell, Barry Macon, Kia Threets (Eric), Mia Liley (Eric) and Crystal McCann (Damond); nineteen grandchildren, Joseph (Brittaney), Jordan, Jeremy, Bruce Jr. (Hannah), Alonzo (Ashley), Jaired, Zion, Blair, Elwood III, Taylor (Erica), Sydney, Riley, Aisling, Dazon, London, Dominique, Mark Jr., Kayla, Joshua, and LaVonna; ten great grandchildren, Tiberius, Vianna, Haley, Roman Xavier, Bryonna, Madison, Carmen, Roman Scott, Tuff, and Timber; sisters-in law (Beverly, Marthenia, Rosenia, Brenda and Cookie), nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. Funeral Service for friends and relatives will be held Friday, October 29, 2021. Viewing from 10-11am; and 11:00 am Funeral Service at LEE FUNERAL HOME-CLINTON, 6633 Old Alexandria Ferry Road, Clinton, MD 20735. Dr. Yolanda Powell, Dominion International Ministries, Officiating. Interment will be at Fort Lincoln Cemetery 3401 Bladensburg Rd. Brentwood MD 20722. Due to COVID, the repast will be held for immediate family only.
