Eva Mae Wasilewski

December 19, 1934 — September 29, 2018

Eva Mae Wasilewski, 83, of Clinton, Maryland, loving wife and mother, passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 29, 2018. She was born to the late Milton Harrah and Lena Marie Pugh Harrah on December 19, 1934 in Laural Creek, West Virginia. After graduating high school at the age of 17, Eva left West Virginia to move to Washington D.C. and work for the FBI. It was shortly after her move that she met her future husband, a Navy sailor, on a blind date. She was married to Richard V. Wasilewski on April 5, 1953 at the age of 18. Eva and her husband Richard soon began their life of worldwide travel due to his many tours of duty with the Navy. They lived in Guam, Northern California, the Philippians, Japan, Southern California, Spain and Taiwan before moving to Maryland for his final tour of duty before retirement. Each of Eva’s three children were born in different countries. Richard Jr. was born in Guam, Pamela was born in Northern California and Carol was born in Japan. After marriage Eva held a few jobs but chose to devote the majority of her time to being a stay-at-home mother and providing support to her husband during his military career. Frequently Eva acted as a single parent in a foreign country while her husband had to take extended work-related trips. Being a wife of a military man in that day and age required a special strength and resiliency. Eva exemplified those traits and many more. Her husband, Richard, often commented that his successful career was primarily due to her unwavering support. Eva, along with her husband, were beloved members of Evangel Assembly in Camp Springs, Maryland for over 30 years. She will be truly missed by so many of her friends there and in the community. Eva is survived by her husband of 65 years, Richard V. Wasilewski Sr.; her children Richard, Jr., Pamela, Carol; and her grandchildren, Ian and Sabrina Patton.
