Evelyn Fearday Schumacher, 94 of Clinton, MD, passed away Thursday July 21, 2016 at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home. Born in Neoga, Illinois, July, 1921. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 74 years, Richard John Schumacher. Evelyn was the daughter of Clem J. and Eva Baker Fearday, Neoga, Ill. Evelyn embraced her roles as wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, community and church volunteer. She was a creative needleworker, accomplished seamstress, home economics instructor, Red Cross , and dedicated community volunteer. She was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Clinton, Md. and dedicated significant efforts to its early years as a growing parish; as well as being a member of the Catholic Daughters and Sodality. Evelyn is survived by her five children: daughters Dorothy (Smith), Alice, Jane and sons James Richard Sr., and William (wife: Laura); 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and her sister, Carolyn Knabe. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Grace Swengel, Katherine Spetter, Mary Eva Pardieck, Marjorie Hanfland; brothers Wilbur, Robert, and Ray Fearday; and grandson, Richard M. Smith. Interment will be held at a later date at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD
