Franklin H. Weaver\n \n \n \nFranklin Harris Weaver (Newt) 86, of Clinton MD, peacefully passed into Heaven on Oct. 15, 2011 after a courageous battle with multiple health issues. He was at home surrounded by his loving family.\n \n \n \nFrank was born on March 22, 1925 in Washington D.C. to Edith Pearl (Lewis) and Harry Bates Weaver.\n \n \n \nHe grew up in S.W. Washington D.C. One of his childhood interests became one of his life passions, “Racing Pigeons”. Newt, as many friends called him, began work at an early age @ Coca Cola as a Delivery Man.\n \n \n \nHe enlisted in the Army during WWII and began his service career in the 29th Infantry Division. His first battle engagement was D-Day. He was part of the 3rd assault wave on Omaha Beach. (Bloody Omaha) He was quickly reassigned to the 87th Infantry Division, Company F, and 347th Battalion of the 3rd Army. Among the many battle engagements of the 87th Infantry Division, one of his most memorable and rewarding was the March to Bastogne and the Battle of the Bulge. Under the leadership of General George S. Patton, the 87th liberated the 101st Airborne Division on Christmas Day, 1944.\n \n \n \nAfter his return from WWII, he worked as a home delivery Milk Man for Thompsons Dairy, a job he truly loved. He ended his formal work career with Herbert Halperin Distributing Corp., as a Warehouse Supervisor. He enjoyed his retirement years with family, friends and hobbies.\n \n \n \nFranks passions were his Faith, Family, Friends, this Country, the American Flag and those serving in all branches of the military, both present and in the past, being a Milk Man, pigeons, dogs, horse racing and playfully teasing those he loved dearly.\n \n \n \nHis beloved parents, Harry and Pearl Weaver, brothers Gordon and Webster, sister Gladys, in-Laws Prentice, Pansy and Manuel preceded him in death.\n \n \n \nHe is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Patricia Ann (Stephan) Weaver, sisters Dolores and Gerri, daughters Patricia Kay, Becky and Cheri, sons Harry and Steve, grandchildren Franklin, Alaina, Skyler, Alea, Benjamin, Shannon, Mikie, Shane, Ashlee, Austin and Kyle. Great grandchildren Conner, Breanna, Allura and Dakota, Daughter In-Laws Annice & Janet , Son In-Law David, also many dearly loved Sister In-Laws, Brother In-Laws, nieces, nephews and Special Friends.\n \n \n \nHe was a founding member of the Hillside Racing Pigeon Club and a lifetime member of the Capital City Racing Pigeon Club.
