Fred White, Sr., affectionately known as, "Freddy or Uncle Freddy" passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 to be once again reunited with his wife of 55 years. He was the youngest of nine siblings born to Phillip and Mary White in Monessen, PA., on August 20, 1932. Fred was educated in the public school system in Monessen, PA., and shortly afterwards he joined the United States Air Force in July 1951. He remained in the Air Force for over 20 years until his retirement in 31 Aug 1971. Early in his military career he met his lovely wife Virginia “Muriel” Davis while visiting relatives in Brooklyn, New York in 1955 and they were married six months later. Through this beautiful union was born two sons, Fred White, Jr. and Steve A. White. While serving in the Air Force they traveled with their sons, to Tokyo, Japan, Honolulu, Hawaii and numerous stateside assignments. After moving to the Washington Metropolitan area Fred retired from the Air Force and later joined the civilian workforce on Joint Base Andrews (formerly known as Andrews AFB) working with Social Actions and finally retiring from the Air National Guard in 1990. He was a Vietnam veteran, a disabled veteran and a member of the U.S. Air Force Association, a member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America and a former member of Mt. Ennon Baptist Church in Clinton, MD and Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church in Charlotte Hall, MD. During his retirement years, Fred enjoyed traveling with his wife Muriel and spending time with family and friends. They enjoyed hosting family and friends while preparing delicious meals over wholesome good times. Fred leaves to cherish his beautiful memory to his loving sons Fred White, Jr. (Teresa) Waldorf, MD and Steve A. White (Brenda) Upper Marlboro, MD; two beautiful granddaughters Cora and Lisa White along with two great-granddaughters Caleigh and Camryn and three step-grandsons; Dwight, Danny and Rapheal Dillard; four brothers Scipio White Monessen, PA; Luther White (Monessen, PA); William White (Virginia Beach, VA); Theodore White (Monongahela, PA); one brother-in-law Donald Macer (Anna Ruth-deceased) Monessen, PA; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; four deceased siblings Phillip, Thomas, Anna Ruth and Charles. In-laws Elma Hall (Richard-deceased) Hackensack, NJ; Audrey Wright (Elliott) Bowie, MD; Lemuel Davis (Bessie-deceased) Paterson, NJ; James Alton Davis-deceased (Elsie).
