Frederick Lawrence McAllister, "Freddy," born March 23, 1942 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Lawrence and the late Laverna McAllister. Passed away July 9, 2013 at the VA Hospital in Washington, DC. Freddy served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing, baking cakes and playing pranks. He was a "big spoon, that stirred a lot of pots" and was always the life of the party. He also enjoyed cooking for his church Brandywine Bible Church that he was a member of for 25 years. Freddy was a giving person, always putting others before himself and always offering a helping hand. He is survived by his sister Shirley Bradford of Virginia; brother Tommy McAllister of Virginia; nephews Tony, Jeremy, Ronnie; step-son Robert (Janice) Glascoe; grandchildren Anthony, Austen, Aaden; cousin Millie Soper and best friend Boonie. Also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Family and friends will be received at Brandywine Bible Church on Tuesday, July 23 from 10 a.m. until time of service at noon. Interment with military honors will follow at Maryland Veteran's Cemetery Cheltenham, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or a charity of one's choice.
