Frederick Lee Peake, 81, of Tracy’s Landing, MD passed away on December 23, 2016. Born on July 6, 1935 in Washington D.C. to the late Samuel Elmo Peake and Pearl Hilda Krauch. He and his wife, Joan, lived and raised a family in Oxon Hill, Maryland. Upon retirement, they built a home in Ocean View, Delaware, where he lived for ten years before moving to Tracy’s Landing. He especially loved spending weekends back in his home in Delaware. Fred was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He was a retired Steamfitter with Local Union 602, and was well respected by his colleagues. He was a member of the American Legion Post 248, Temple Hills, MD; the Deale Elks Lodge 2528, Deale, MD; and the VFW Mason Dixon Post 7234, Ocean View, DE. He was an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed the Washington, D.C. sports teams, never missing a game. He was a great story teller, very generous, and loved being surrounded by his many family and friends. Frederick is predeceased by his wife, Joan Arlene Peake, and sisters, Isabel Harris and Sylvia “Laverne” Weeks. He is survived by his children, Kelly Ann Dulka (Joe) and Frederick “Pete” Lee Peake, Jr., as well as two grandchildren, Sarah and Andrew Chick, and two great-grandsons, Aiden and Alex Sims.
