Gail Ann Burress

Gail Ann Burress, 69, of Fort Washington Maryland, entered the gates of Heaven on August 22,
2022. She was born November 12, 1952, to Elizabeth and Isaiah Barrett.

Gail matriculated from the District of Columbia Public School system. After graduating from Roosevelt
High School in Washington, D.C., she married Donald Burress April 21, 1973. They celebrated 49 years
of marriage. Out of this union were born four children: Sean, Christian, Leisha and Bryan. She is also
survived by her sister Carolyn and brother-in-law Mark Thomas, their daughter Jaylyn and a brother,
Isaiah Brather along with his wife.

Gail was the most loving and devoted wife, mother, Auntie Mama, friend and caretaker.
She had a God given gift in communicating with children. Gail taught and nurtured countless children
while in her care. She also helped support the household by selling Avon products, clothing,
Tupperware, jewelry and driving a van for a private school for children. Gail was truly a business
woman.

Gail had a personality and natural charisma to make friends and a sassiness to let you know that she
wasn't a pushover. She had a smile that could warm any heart and an infectious laugh that made
anyone in her presence laugh along with her. Gail loved to shop and dress to the “nines.”

A true woman of integrity. Her family and husband called her blessed. She was the best under
whatever circumstances she was led to be in. Gail was truly a great prayer warrior who loved and
feared the Lord. The impact of Gail’s life will forever be felt by her family, loved ones and dear friends.
