George V. Brown, of Selbyville, DE (formally of Camp Springs MD) passed on March 30, 2018 at the age of 89. Born in Cottage City, MD the son of Elsie E. (Linton) Brown and George O. Brown. George grew up District Heights MD and attended Maryland Park HS. He met the love of his life Mildred and they married on June 2, 1950. They bought a house and settled in Camp Springs, MD. George worked as a Steamfitter until he started his own business Brown Mechanical which he owned and operated until he retired. He enjoyed boating and caring for his cars especially his Mustang. At age 22, George was inducted into the United States Armed Forces. He served from March 20, 1951 to December 19, 1952, with overseas duty in Korea. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal, 2 Bronze Stars and the United Nation Service Medal. He attained the rank of Sgt (T) and after discharge was transferred to the Enlisted Reserve Corps, what today is known as the Army Reserves. Worshipful Brother George V. Brown was very proud to be a Master Mason and Shriner. He was a Past Master of Centennial Lodge #174 and was active in many Masonic and Shrine Organizations. Beloved husband of the late Mildred Brown; devoted father of Pamela S. Brown of Alexandria, VA and Patricia A. Brown and her husband Joe Brehm of Clinton, MD; loving brother of Margaret Hamel of TN, Samuel Brown of FL and the late Donald Brown and Elsie Louise Klock. Also survived by nieces and nephews.
