George “Heavy” Daniel Bruffy

George Daniel Bruffy “Heavy” of Waldorf, MD completed his last lap, during the early afternoon on the 19th of November, 2020. Born in Washington, DC to Mary Jane (Marshall) and George Daniel Bruffy, now both deceased. Beloved father of Brooke O’Neal Rollins of Pomfret, MD, Jason Michael Bruffy of TX, and the late Tammy Sue Bruffy; Loving brother of Robert James Bruffy (Joann) of Brandywine, MD, Mary Joanne Jameson (Paul Muldoon) of Waldorf, MD, Rebecca Thompson (Larry) of Dunkirk, MD and Douglas Edward Miller (Lori Gallagher) of Indian Head, MD. A people person, Heavy could always be found in places where people gathered, like the race track. He also enjoyed building race cars, fishing, and playing cards. He was a great mechanic, always working on family cars. Heavy worked with Asphalt with White Plains Paving during the warmer season. The family will receive friends at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM where a Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, 3401 Bladensburg Road, Brentwood, MD 20722. NEW GUIDELINES FOR ATTENDING VISITATION / SERVICES. - 50 to 75 people max at any given time in Funeral Home. - Limit visitation to 15 minutes in visitation room to allow for others to express their condolences. - Funeral Services in Chapel limited to 70 people with four (4) people per pew. - Masks and six-foot social distancing still applies.
