George Lamar

George Edward Lamar III, better known as “Georgie” to many who loved him, was born in Brooklyn, NY, to George E. Lamar Jr. and Carlotta Lamar on April 24, 1964. He entered into eternal rest on March 6, 2025, in Clinton, MD.

Georgie always carried an aura that valued hard work, good food, and great times with family, friends, and loved ones. When he wasn’t working, you could always find him winning a hand in Spades, crushing it in Candy Crush, enjoying his favorite local buffets—whether with family, friends, or solo for a “Power Lunch”—catching up on WWE, or watching his favorite cooking shows like Good Eats with Alton Brown and Iron Chef. He also loved listening to smooth jazz while out and about, often making a stop at the nearest 7-Eleven for a fresh cup of coffee, a crisp Mountain Dew, or a diet cola. Georgie will always be remembered for his humor, contagious laugh, animated facial expressions, and laid-back demeanor.

He is survived by his sister, Sabrina Lamar; former spouse and good friend, Gina Lamar; daughters, Jacqueline Lamar, Gine’a Lamar, and Jasmine Lamar; son, George E. Lamar IV (Karma); grandchildren, Giselle Lamar, Genesis Lamar, George E. Lamar V (and their mother, Kiara Towles), Torah’Yah Lamar, Sovereign Lamar, and soon-to-arrive Evangel Lamar (and their mother, Karma Lamar); nieces, LaTonya Coles-Hatcher (David) and LaKyia Coles-Moore (Gerald); nephews, David Rhodes Jr. and Domonick Lamar; great-niece, Zaniya Smith; great-nephew, Jayden Via; aunt, Kathy Rittenhouse; first cousins, Simone Rittenhouse, DeWayne Rittenhouse (Janet), Darren Rittenhouse (Pam), Richard Rittenhouse (Kyla), and Patrick Rittenhouse (Shay); along with many other beloved cousins, family members, and friends.

Georgie is now reunited with cherished family members who have gone before him: his father, George E. Lamar Jr.; mother, Carlotta Lamar; sister, Cathy Lamar; grandmother, Samella Chinn “Mother Dear”; cousin, Adrienne Lamar, uncle, Jack Rittenhouse; and even his long-time furry companion, Katrina Lamar “Ms. Kat”. We love you, Georgie. Your essence lives on, and may you forever rest in peace.
