George D. Midgett Jr.

George D. Midgett, Jr. (RET. USAF MSgt) of Upper Marlboro, MD passed peacefully on September 25, 2016 at the age of 81. Born in New Bern, NC he was one of three sons to Jeannetta Woods Midgette and George Dallas Midgette, Sr. George attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School New Bern City Schools in New Bern NC, he earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Colorado and two Masters degrees from Webster College. George retired from the Department of Defense, Office of the Inspector General, in Arlington VA after 17 years of civilian government service, totaling more than 37 years of government service. His hobbies, included being a member of the Omega Phi Psi fraternity, he also enjoyed gardening, fishing and hand dancing with his best friends, Dennis and Gwen Holtmeyer and David and Stephanie Bramwell. Hill-Midgett; Devoted Father of Jeannetta Elva Midgett Hobson (Donald) of Greensboro, NC, Timothy Dallas Midgett (Linda) of Denver, CO, Renate Ann Midgette of Denver, CO and Sylvia Midgett of Washington, DC; grandfather of Jerrica Venese Johnson of New Orleans, LA, Joshua Raashan Carriaga of Denver, CO and Gianna Marie Carriaga of Denver, CO; great grandfather of Zoe Madison Russell of New Orleans, LA. George was predeceased by brothers Charles Midgette (Surviving wife Joyce and niece, Taryn of New Bern, NC) and James Midgett.
