George Albert Underwood, Jr.

George A. Underwood, Jr., age 75, of St. Leonard, Maryland, passed away on October 2, 2013 at Prince Georges Hospital Center, in Lanham, Maryland.He is the beloved husband of 30 years of Carol Jean Underwood and the loving father of David Cain, Patricia Cook, Cody Cain (Sue), George A. Underwood, III (Lacy) and Joshua Underwood (Shanna). He is the devoted grandfather of Ashley Cook, Aaron Cook, Taylor Cain and Wyatt Underwood. He is also survived by two other daughters, Shirley Ann Underwood, Patricia Jean Stone and numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also survived by 4 brothers, 7 sisters, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, George (Pop), Katherine (Mom) Underwood and 3 brothers.George lived in St. Leonard for over 30 years and was the owner of Underwood Demolition Services, retiring in 2004.Among his many hobbies, George enjoyed working, an avid fan of racing, which he retired in 1983 from and attending family sporting events. Another favorite hobby was raising chickens, mostly Rhode Island Reds, Barred Stone and Americanas.
