Gerald T. (Jerry) Walsh passed away unexpectedly on July 4th, 2021, at the age of 72 at his home in Clinton, MD. Jerry was born in Washington, D.C. on September 19th 1948, to the late Frank and Doris Walsh. Jerry graduated from Surrattsville Sr. H.S. and trained to become a specialist in Aircraft Armament for the Army where he served with honor for three years attaining the rank of Specialist 5. He served in Vietnam and was awarded a Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Jerry was a M-14 Marksman and M-16 Expert. He was a lifelong Redskins fan, loved to garden, and was a devoted son, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his sister Lynda Phifer and her husband Sid, brother Danny Walsh and his wife Mary, and brother Michael Walsh and his wife Robin. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sharon Russ and her husband Bobby. He is also survived by his many nephews and nieces.
