Gladys Theresa Swann

Gladys Teresa Swann, of Clinton, MD passed peacefully on April 16, 2016 at the age of 78. Born and raised in Mitchellville, MD, Gladys was one of 12 children born to Mary Edna (Wallace) and George Melvin Harley. In 1957, Gladys married Charles P. Swann. After 30 years of marriage, he pre-deceased her in 1987. Gladys graduated in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Bowie University. She was also a member of Delta Mu Delta in the Gamma Kappa Chapter, National Honor Society. She worked as a Parent Involvement Team member for Prince George’s county public schools. Beloved mother of Rose Mason and her husband Clifford Mason, Sr. of Clinton, MD; devoted grandmother of Andre Fletcher and his wife Asia of Laurel, MD and Eric Fletcher and his wife Amber of King George, VA; loving great-grandmother of Bailey, Skylar and Eric Fletcher, Jr.; dear sister of Dorothy Scott of Mitchellville, MD, Mary Edna Robinson of Upper Marlboro, MD and William Harley of Lothian, MD. In addition to her parents and husband, Gladys was pre-deceased by her remaining siblings. With a zest for life, Gladys enjoyed spending time with family, listening to gospel music, the color red and traveling with her family.
