Gloria Jean Beard

Gloria Jean Beard, nee Kalla, 73, of Edgewater, MD, passed away peacefully at her home on July 7, 2016. She was born on July 17, 1942 in Washington, DC. Gloria worked in the financial industry for over fifty-six years and started Gloria J. Beard Financial Service, specializing in taxes and bookkeeping. Gloria provided her services to several local companies and families throughout the DC and Annapolis area until the time of her death. In 1960 Gloria married the love of her life Kenneth Alton (Pat) Beard where the couple proudly started their own business K. Beard Company Plumbing and Heating in 1982 until 1996. Gloria loved traveling the world with her sister, sharing her family stories with friends and relatives, and above all her greatest joy was being a "Nana" to her grandchildren. Gloria loved being a family woman, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Kenneth Alton (Pat) Beard Jr. who passed away in 1990. She is survived by her loving children, Kenneth Wayne Beard, Robert Allen Beard, and Kara Denise Beard-Taylor; her loving grandchildren Heather Lynn Beard, William Hunter Taylor Jr., Hayley Elisabeth Taylor, Brandi Lee Vinson, and Amanda Lee Vinson, as well as her loving sister Judith Giessuebel.
