Grace Virginia (Amick) Cranston Beuchert, a long time resident of Louisa, Va., Hyattsville, Md., Washington, DC and Murrells Inlet, SC. Died peacefully at Hospice of the Valley in Goodyear/Phoenix, AZ. After a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease at 92 years of age.Born in Louisa VA. On April 4, 1921 she grew up #8 of 10 children on her parents farm/grocery business. In her early adult life she followed her older sister Mary to Washington DC and began a 29 year career with the Bell telephone System where she started in operator services. As the business needs changed she progressed to positions in the evolution from hard wire connections to computer driven systems. She was an active member of Telephone Pioneers for many years. She was a real “People Person” always considering other’s needs before her own.Grace was preceded in death by her first husband, William Henry Cranston, /sr. father of her five children. Widowd for many years, she married her second husband Robert Anton Beuchert moving to Murrells Inlet, SC. For a warmer climate where they golfed and were active in the Moose clubShe is survived by her children, Geneva M. (Francis) Callegari of Phoenix AZ., Ellen C. Rostad, of Edgartown MA., William H. Cranston, Jr. of Silver Spring, MD., Robert L. Cranston of Edgewater, MD. and Mark A. Cranston of Mechanicsville, MD. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 3 grt. Grandchildren, her brother Charles E. Amick, numerous nieces and nephews and her best and long time friend Dorothy Ann Kuhl of NE now 104 years old.Grace enjoyed many family reunions, travel, photography, golfing, cooking, shopping, fitness, masseages, swimming, listening to her Gospel music and always ready to help anyone who needed it.
