August 5, 1947- April 25- 2016 After giving it his best fight, Greg lost his battle with cancer and passed away peacefully at his home in Accokeek, MD surrounded by his loving family. Gregory was born in Washington, DC on August 5, 1947 to the late Sherley Weaver and Gwendolyn Grimes Weaver. Greg graduated from Eastern High School in DC, he then joined the US Navy and sailed around the world serving in the engineering division on the USS Thomas J. Gary from 1966-1969. After the Navy, he worked many jobs including as a Mail Carrier for the U.S. Post Office for 2 years. He left the Post Office and started in an apprentice training position as an HVAC engineer with the General Service Administration. Greg worked in many federal government buildings around the District, including the White House, during the George W. Bush Administration. After 35 years of service, Greg retired from the government. Greg loved working with his tools around the house, fixing and building things and was always ready to grab his tool bag and help out anyone else. When asked what he wanted for a gift, it was always, “let’s go to Home Depot/ Lowes and see what tool I don’t have”. He was kind man and always showed compassion for anyone in need. Gregory is survived by his wife of 35 years, Carol M. Williams Weaver; his mother, Gwen; 2 daughters; Devessdra McKoy and Ayesha K. Weaver, one son; Kareem “Christopher” Weaver, and one granddaughter; Amaya McKoy. His is also survived by two brothers; Oliver (Toni) Waver and Kevin (Georgia) Weaver, two sisters; Gayle Wilson and Pamela Weaver, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
