Traveling the country with Martha. Getting up at 3am to drive to work in D.C. Seeing the world on a Navy ship. Bill Hillegass led a life in motion. Hard work, attention to detail and strong, quiet love.\n The only son of Mary and George Hillegass, Bill was dedicated to his family. First to his parents, then to his wife and three daughters. Martha, Denise, Donna and Wendy often tell stories about the adventures they had with Dad. Hunting, camping, working on the house, going to see family, playing games in the yard, celebrating life. \n Harold William Hillegass was born in Johnstown, PA June 25, 1941. He served in the Navy from August 1960 to August 1962 aboard the USS Independence, where he learned his trade. Martha and Bill were married December 21, 1964. They raised their three daughters Denise, Donna, and Wendy in Southern Maryland. Bill worked as a building engineer in maintaining embassies to hospitals in the DC area for almost forty years. In his spare time Bill enjoyed hunting and camping, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and taking trips with Martha. \n Bill is survived by his wife Martha, Daughters, Denise, Donna, and Wendy.
