Harry H. Carter, Jr.\n \n \n \nHarry H. Carter, Jr. 55, passed away on May 07, 2011 at Florida Waterman Hospital, after an extended fight with emphysema. A viewing will be held at Lee Funeral Home, Inc. located in Clinton, MD on Saturday, May 14, 2011 from 2 pm until a funeral service at 4 pm.\n \n \n \nHarry, was born on May 24, 1955 in Augusta, GA. He was the first son of Harry Carter, Sr. & Virginia Johnson Carter. Harry was six years old when his father relocated the family to the Maryland area.\n \n \n \nHarry resided in Spruce Drive in Clinton, MD during his attendance and graduation from Surrattsville High School in 1974. He volunteered at The Humane Society in Fredericksburg, VA. Harry also worked in his father’s profession as a Master Electrician servicing in the located areas of Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC.\n \n \n \nHarry was a member of Local 26 IBEW and National Electrical Brotherhood and was always offering to help people any way he could. He retired from the trade in 1998 due to his declining health. He volunteered his talents many times over the past 10 years of his life.\n \n \n \nAfter marrying his wife, Lori Dashner-Carter in 2000, Harry resided in several states including Lake Dallas, Texas, Fredericksburg, Virginia and Mount Dora, Florida. Harry loved spending his summers in the mountains of Pennsylvania, camping was his fifth wheel. He enjoyed visiting others around the campfires in the evenings. Harry loved fishing and was a member of The Villages, Florida Fresh Water Fishing Club. He was always trying to get others to play (Blitz) on Facebook with him.\n \n \n \nHarry was a good chef and enjoyed cooking for the homeless shelter in Fredericksburg, Va. He contributed his time brushing & socializing with shelter dogs in Fredericksburg, Va.\n \n \n \nHarry and his wife Lori provided a foster home for Pomeranian for approximately 5 years. He leaves two Pomeranians’ behind, Kodie and Jesseeeka Lee.\n \n \n \nHarry was an active member of Hughesville Baptist Church Nail Benders located in Hughesville, Maryland, using his God given talents to help spread the word of God thru building churches.\n \n \n \nHarry once prepared food for a hundred to honor a retiring marine officer. Generous, kind and loving are words often used by people describing Harry.\n \n \n \nHe will be greatly missed by all that knew him.\n \n \n \nHarry fathered his first born son James in 1976. He fathered his first daughter Sherry Ann in 1979 and his second daughter Tiffany in 1982. He gave many hours working to provide for his family. He is survived by his wife Lori and his parents Virginia and Harry Carter, Sr.; brother’s David B. Carter (Sandy), Scott F. Carter (Kim), granddaughter Kirsten Bachand. He is also survived be many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.\n \n \n \nIn lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Lung Association in Harry’s name.\n \n \n \nHarry’s final resting place will be in his wife’s family plot in East Hickory Cemetery in East Hickory, Pa.
