Helen Anderson

Helen Anderson, 86, died peacefully at her home in Waldorf, Maryland on June 3, 2016. She struggled briefly with cancer and was under hospice care. Helen was the daughter of Nicholas and Stella Passivo, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her marriage to Robert Anderson (CWO3 retired Navy) ended in divorce. Robert “Andy” predeceased her in 2011. During her busy time as a Navy wife and mother of two, she traveled often. Helen made many lifelong friends and enjoyed entertaining. She worked many years in retail with Montgomery Ward and JC Penney. She lived for 38 years in Florida’s Space Coast and was a longtime member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Helen relocated to Maryland in October 2015 and still wanted to live independently. Her family enjoyed her being close by, but that time was cut short by illness. Helen is predeceased by her two brothers, Leo Wisniewski and Herman Wisniewski, and her parents Nick and Stella. She is survived by her two children: Robert M. Anderson (Barbara) and Teresa A. Cory (William); five grandchildren: Adam Cory (Tiffany), Nicole Hitchcock (Justin), Matthew Anderson, Andrew Cory, and Patricia Cory; six great-grandchildren: Anthony and Marissa Cory, Sophia and Patrick Hitchcock, and Joshua and Jorja Cory.
