Helen Kane passed peacefully on December 14, 2020 at her home of 53 years in Fort Washington, MD. She was in the loving care of her family. Helen was an extraordinary woman who leaves behind a perfect example of what a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister should be. She cherished spending time with family and friends. She expressed the endless love in her heart by cooking and baking legendary meals and treats for all to share. She lit up rooms with her fiery personality and unforgettable laugh. Born on October 30, 1941, she is the daughter of the late Ellis and Vergie Compton of Haysi, Virginia. Her loss is a profound sorrow for her husband, Charles "Chuck" of 58 years; her children Kevin (Lisa), Robert (Cathy), Karen(Bill); her five grandchildren, Tori(Rodd) Warren, Nicole Cote, Lindsey Spies, Samantha Spies, and Zachary Kane; and siblings Patsy (Don) Adkins, Ronald (Debbie) Compton, Gloria (Norm) Breakey, and Deborah (Danny) Hill. She is preceded in death by her sister Nina (Talmidge) Fain. Close to her heart were all her nieces and nephews. "Those we love don't go away. They walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard but always near, still loved, still missed, and held so dear." Due to Covid Restrictions, all services will be held private.
