Henry "Butch" Henderson Sweeney Jr.

Henry “Butch” Henderson Sweeney, Jr., 61, passed away on April 9, 2017. Butch was born on December 1, 1955 to the late Henry H. Sweeney, Sr., and Bertha Virginia Tyler Sweeney in Washington D.C. Butch was an active member of Melwood Church of Nazarene in Upper Marlboro, MD serving as a Lay Minister of Pastoral Care. He served as a lay pastor, church board member, Sunday School Teacher, and played the bass guitar with the Worship Team at Melwood. He sang with several gospel quartets for over 20 years. Butch loved playing/coaching church softball. Butch is also predeceased by his Sister, Henrietta “Tookie” Nueslein. Butch is survived by his wife, Paula, children, Henry H. Sweeney, III. (Amber), and Carrie Marchand (Christopher), grandchildren, Elizabeth Sweeney and William Sweeney, and sister, Diana “Donna” Palmer (Robert, Sr.) along with many nieces and nephews.
